M&G 9th Annual Makers Market

M&G Makers Market Returns—Fall 2026!

After a one-year break, M&G’s Makers Market is back! This fall, we are celebrating a monumental year: M&G turns 75, and BJU celebrates its Centennial!

In honor of these special milestones, Homecoming Weekend will be moved to November 13-14, and our 9th annual juried Makers Market will be on Saturday, November 14, from 10AM–4PM.

M&G’s Makers Market is a curated market of handmade art, crafts, foods, and designs created by BJU grads, current and former faculty/staff, and current and former students. The Makers come from around the country and feature a variety of items including handmade cards, specialty cupcakes, functional pottery, illustrations, watercolor paintings, jewelry, fiber art, high-end writing instruments, gourmet popcorn, fidget gadgets, herbed soaps, soy candles, and more!

This all-day event is hosted on both floors of the Welcome Center, outside in the Student Center, and in The Den on the Saturday of Homecoming. Plus, it is open to the public to enjoy!

If you’re interested in becoming a Maker, please take note of the following process and timeline:

Application: All Artists (and craftsmen, artisans, illustrators, designers, jewelers, bakers, etc.) interested in participating must submit their application and images online between 8AM on Monday, June 1 through Midnight on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

  • Remember, since this is for BJU Homecoming, applicants are limited to current/former faculty and staff, BJU graduates, and current/former BJU students.
  • There is a non-refundable application fee of $25.
  • Market applications are only received during this 3-week time period stated. Only Makers who have applied are considered for inclusion in the annual Makers Market.
  • M&G will make an email announcement about the opening of the application forms in advance and on the day of the opening. The forms will be accessed on M&G’s website. There will be reminders throughout the three weeks to encourage Makers to apply. If you would like to receive this announcement please click here.
  • Current BJU Students apply HERE.
  • All Other Makers apply HERE.

Selection: Following the closure of the application process, a jury of BJU grads will review all submissions and choose which artists will participate in the Market in the following categories: 2D Fine Art, 3D Fine Art, To Wear, Paper Goods, Fiber Art, and Everything Else.

  • Once the jury makes its choices based on quality, price point, and variety, M&G will contact the chosen Makers to accept their admission and pay their booth fee to participate.
  • Space for the Market is limited with a total number of Makers limited between 40-45.

Announcement: M&G will announce the participating Makers on Facebook, Instagram, our website, and via email in August. Saturday, November 14, 2026 will be M&G’s 9th annual Makers Market.

Makers Market FAQs

Makers and artists are encouraged to submit their work for consideration.  Applications for the market open Monday, June 1 through Sunday, June 21, midnight EST. During the submission period, you can apply online for a $25 non-refundable fee. Please note: we do not consider late or incomplete applications, no exceptions. Apply HERE.

All makers and artists that are BJU graduates, current and former BJU students, current BJU faculty/staff and former or retired BJU faculty/staff who make or design high-quality goods are encouraged to apply. M&G Makers Market focuses on artisan handmade items.

M&G is looking for high-quality handmade goods and fine art. When you submit your application, you will be asked to include a brief description of your work and 4 photographs.

The jury reviews all applications anonymously and chooses the best submissions for the Market. Work is judged according to its originality, quality, distinctiveness, and innovation.

M&G’s 9th annual Makers Market is held on the Saturday (14th) during BJU’s Homecoming, November 13-14, 2026.

All booths are the same size (8 ft. table) and are available for an exhibition fee. The adult fee is $55, and the student rate is $35. To qualify for the student rate, you must have a current undergraduate or graduate classification at Bob Jones University. Tables, linens, and chairs are included in the exhibition fee. All fees go to cover the costs of the Market.

Because each maker is juried into the show separately, M&G does not permit shared booths. This enables us to design the exhibition layout in a fashion that is both organized and aesthetically pleasing.

Once M&G closes the application portal, we review and prepare your responses and images by category in a format for the jury members to review each submission anonymously. This preparation process can take a few weeks. Once prepared, we provide the material for the jury to review submissions; they have a 2-week period to consider and rank the makers. Next, M&G must tally the results and determine how many Makers to invite based on available spacing. After which, M&G will contact the Makers with the highest rankings to participate–roughly late July.

If you cancel your booth before September 1, and we are able to secure a replacement from the waiting list, you will be refunded 50% of your booth fee. After September 1, no refunds will be given.

Even though M&G is not offering public viewing hours currently, we’re still working and serving you. Besides storing, loaning, removing, conserving, and de-installing the Collection, architectural elements and objects, we’re fundraising and preparing to move to a new location off the campus in Greenville!

However, we are still hosting this special annual event during BJU’s Homecoming as well as offering other monthly in-person events and tours throughout the year. M&G’s Makers Market is hosted on the main and 2nd floors of the Welcome Center, outside in the Student Center, and inside the Den.
