M&G Events at Homecoming 2023

 

Whether or not you’re a BJU alumni or supporter, YOU are invited to attend Homecoming, October 6-7, on the campus of Bob Jones University–it’s open to the public to enjoy. In addition to BJU’s planned events, the following M&G offerings are available and open to the public. Please come!

 

M&G MAKERS MARKET

Saturday, October 7 from 10 AM-5 PM

Welcome Center, Student Center, and Den

Come shop this special indie craft fair of 40+ makers! Learn more about the variety of vendors and handmade items here.

Find M&G’s table at Makers Market for some special updates and an opportunity to purchase our 2023 Christmas ornament, boxed card sets, creative building kits, our most recent Collection catalog, and more! All sale proceeds go toward M&G’s annual fund for the ongoing programming and care of the Collection.

Private Exhibition Tour of Ponder Anew: Masters of the Baroque 

Saturday, October  7 at 1 PM

Meet Tour Bus at 12:30PM, in front of Rodeheaver Auditorium

Join M&G’s Executive Director, Erin Jones for a private tour of M&G’s loan exhibition featuring 14 Baroque paintings in downtown Greenville at the Lenz Gallery in First Presbyterian Church. Through the dramatic storytelling skills of painters living nearly four centuries ago, discover poignant and beautiful truths still relevant today. Space is limited.

Cost: $5 per person. Register in advance here.

 

U-DAY: An Educational Street Fair

Saturday, October 7 from 10 AM-1 PM

Front Campus

Explore dozens of fun, interactive booths on front campus during this 3-hour family event. Enjoy live music, food, face painting and cool hands-on science experiments—there’s so much to do no matter your age! To learn more about this BJU event, which is part of Homecoming, visit here.

Look for M&G’s Tent, where you can explore the Renaissance through art by creating an invention by Leonardo da Vinci, writing with a quill pen, illuminating a manuscript, taking a selfie at our special photo stations, and more!

M&G Makers Market 2023

You’re Invited!

Plan to attend M&G’s 7th annual Makers Market, a special community event hosted by the Museum & Gallery on Saturday, October 7 from 10 AM-5 PM at the Welcome Center on the campus of Bob Jones University! Since this is part of BJU’s Homecoming events on October 6-7, M&G coordinates and hosts this curated market full of art, crafts, and designs created by BJU grads, current and former faculty/staff, and current and former students.

The Makers come from around the country and feature something for everyone—handmade cards, adhesive wax seals, functional pottery, illustrations, watercolor and acrylic paintings, jewelry, scented soy candles, ornaments, macrame, roasted coffee blends, calligraphy, decadent cupcakes, gourmet popcorn, herbed soaps, home décor, specialty chocolates, and more!

Market Time: Saturday, October 7 from 10AM-5PM

Market Location: On campus, 1st and 2nd floors of the Welcome Center and the Den

Admission: Free Event and open to the public to enjoy
