Kids Create! Summer Art Day Camp: Adventure on the High Seas

Novice Adventurers

For first-time kindergartners–offered all three weeks

Join our exploration of the Elements of Art: line, color, shape, space, and texture! During this 5-day morning camp, your young K5 beginner will discover the elements in the world around us, create his/her own art, plus embark on a sea adventure through games and activities.

Note: K5 campers must turn 5 years old by September 1, 2027

Fee (includes daily instruction, art supplies, and snack): Museum Members: $95 | Non-Members: $99

Seafaring Explorers

For rising 1^st—6^th grade (ages 6-12)–offered all three weeks 

Prepare to set sail as your elementary student embarks on an exhilarating journey through cultures in world history. We’ll unearth Viking hordes, trek Central American jungles with Spanish conquistadors, stow away on a Dutch merchant ship (Beware of pirates!), and explore uncharted islands with the seafarers of the Pacific! Not only will your young adventurer hear tales from this exciting age but will also make art reflecting the treasures that past world explorers found on their journeys.

The Age of Dragons

For 6^th-8^th grade (ages 12-14)–offered weeks of June 14 and 21

Middle School students will be transported to a bygone age—an era rich with world exploration and saturated with legends of mysterious creatures encountered along the way. Campers will learn about dragons, sea monsters, and other fantastical creatures from various past cultures. With their newfound knowledge, they’ll explore art media and techniques to create dragon collages and faux-bronze medallions.

Fee: $125 (includes daily instruction, art supplies, and snack)

Registration will open January 2027.

Fridays:

Each week of camp culminates on Friday with a special speaker and an art exhibition showcasing the campers’ creative, beautiful works of art. Students, parents, and families are invited to attend the Friday Art Exhibition and Reception at the end of Kids Create! each week.

Time: Fridays at 11 AM (June 11, 18, and 25)
